About

A little bit about me: I’m a professional singing actress, and I enjoy performing a wide variety of repertoire including opera, musical theater, concert works, pop, and sacred music. In the past few years, I’ve been building a career working with opera houses, symphonies, and church music programs. I’ve also had success in national competitions, most recently in Jan. 2020 as the first artist to be a national semifinalist in both the NATS Artist Awards Competition and the NATS Musical Theater Competition, in which I won fourth place.

As a teacher, it’s been my privilege to work with students ranging in age from teenagers to adults for the past 10 years. I trained at Indiana University (MM Voice Performance) where I was an Associate Instructor of Voice and Baylor University (BM Voice Performance).

When I'm not on the stage or in the teaching studio, I can usually be found with my family in the Nashville, TN area, shamelessly doting on my niece and nephews.

Teaching Style

In lessons, I focus on making sure that students have the vocal and musical skills that they need to succeed as well as tracking their progress and helping to instill confidence in their abilities.

About my students: My students have been varied and exciting! Some of the things that I’ve helped students with in the past include:

  • Healthy vocal technique encouraging students to find their unique, individual voice
  • Music literacy and sight reading
  • Audition preparation for high school musicals, all-state choir, and college auditions
  • Role and performance preparation (after they landed the role or got the gig!)
  • Song learning strategies in English and foreign language pieces
  • Song writing and harmonization

What to expect: Before I start voice lessons with new students, I always do a free 15-minute consultation. The purpose of this complimentary session is so I can understand your specific needs. Voice lessons are NOT one-size-fits-all. They are customized to each student’s individual dreams, short-term goals, and long-term goals. You MUST prepare by being clear on what you want to achieve or overcome. There is no guarantee your dream will come true, but I do know this: you wouldn’t have the dream if you didn’t have what it takes to accomplish it. I can’t wait to hear your beautiful voice!
