About

Hello, My name is Reyna Carroll, I teach Clarinet and Alto Saxophone. I hold a master's degree in music education and have taught in the school system for 5 years now. I was awarded teacher of the year in my school district and voted best music teacher by my local newspaper. I have also performed with local community bands and orchestras and even directed a couple of concerts for the local community band. I love teaching students of all backgrounds and I am very accepting of LGBT+ individuals and minorities. I look forward to meeting you soon!

A positive and loving environment is at the heart of my teaching style. I will never shame a student for not practicing between lessons. I work with what I have in the lesson time. I work diligently and focused during our time together to improve techniques that will make you an all-around better player.

Bachelors degree in music education from Colorado Mesa University

Masters degree in music education from University of Northern Colorado

6th-12th grade public school music teacher for 5 years

Member and conductor of local community band for 2 years

Private lessons instructor for 2 years

Active member of National Association for Music Education

Extensive work with children and adolescence inside and outside of the classroom.

I certainly recommend the rose etudes for clarinet students. The Rubank method books are also good, but ultimately just come with an instrument at first and whatever music you are already working on. If you are a new student, any beginning band method book will do, measures of success or standard of excellence are my favorite.
