About
With over a decade of professional performance experience and a rigorous classical training I find teaching to be the most rewarding musical experience. To be able to nurture a student's strengths and to see them grow into the musician they want to be is an absolute joy!
Teaching Style
I will instill a foundation of musicianship in each of my students and to push them to new levels in their performances.
No matter what style or genre of music a student wishes to perform the core concepts of music theory, ear training, reading, and control over the instrument remain the same. These building blocks will allow students to thrive on their unique musical path.
Curriculum
My method is primarily split into two parts: Control over the instrument and expression.
Control over the instrument encompasses technique, sight reading and performance craft.
Expression describes not only being able to translate what is inside to the instrument but also figuring out what it is that each student has to 'say' on the instrument. It involves cultivating taste as well as the tools such as ear training to replicate what you hear inside.
