About
I began my music career at the age of 4, when I picked up a violin for the very first time. From there, I expanded my repertoire to guitar, piano, ukelele, and eventually digital music production. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Educational Psychology and Arts Instruction from the University of New Mexico, with a focus in string pedagogy, and a Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology. I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, and am a Certified Peer Support Worker.
I have been a songwriter all my life and have released an album, an EP, and several singles. I have collaborated with musicians from around the world, and have played with a variety of groups, including country, rock, and folk bands. I have taught songwriting to both children and adults for over ten years, and I love watching my students explore music in the way that feels best to them.
My teaching style is relaxed, student-driven, and collaborative. I believe people learn best in an environment that encourages creativity and exploration, and when their input is valued. I am trained in the Suzuki method of violin, which is based on the philosophy that anyone can learn and develop talent. I have worked with students as young as 3 and as old as 75, as well as students with disabilities.
