Teaching Style

My teaching style combines structured technique with open-ended exploration. I emphasise practical skills, collaborative projects, critical listening, and improvisation. Lessons are personalised to match each student's needs, interests, and ambitions, ensuring balanced growth in technical proficiency and creative expression.

As a teacher, my approach is student-centred, adaptive, and rooted in fostering creativity, technical mastery, and musical versatility. I am committed to creating inclusive learning environments that celebrate diversity and encourage each student's unique musical expression. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced musician, my lessons focus on helping you achieve your personal musical goals with clarity, enthusiasm, and dedicated support.

Curriculum

My teaching methods blend practical exercises with theoretical understanding, incorporating rhythm drills, sight-reading, improvisation techniques, and ensemble practice. Recommended texts and resources include "Stick Control" by George Lawrence Stone, "Syncopation for the Modern Drummer" by Ted Reed, "The Art of Bop Drumming" by John Riley, and various contemporary music charts tailored to each student's interests. I also integrate listening assignments from diverse artists to inspire creativity and deepen musical comprehension.
