Rui Pinheiro

I began my official organ music studies at the Regional Conservatory of Vila Real and continued at the National Conservatory of Lisbon. In 2011, I started a Degree in Composition at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa and another Degree in Musical Sciences at the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. I have a postgraduate degree in Historical Musicology from FCSH/UNL, where I developed research into Sacred Music in the 19th Century. Over the years, I have attended several masterclasses in organ performance and composition, as well as in cultural and artistic management.

In parallel, I began studying Human Resources Management at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, obtaining a Postgraduate Degree in Human Resources Management from the Person's Perspective, and completing my Master's Degree in Human Resources Management and Organizational Consulting at ISCTE-IUL. I also hold a Postgraduate Degree in Project Management from Universidade Europeia.

In 2013, I founded Reanimarte - Associação Cultural, with which, as artistic director, I promoted two editions of the Macedo Music Festival.

In 2015, I entered the Army Officers Course, an institution in which I served as G6 Deputy in the Mechanized Brigade, Platoon Commander, and SST Delegate. During my professional career, I carried out various activities, including serving as a Volunteer Firefighter for eight years, and teaching various subjects in the historical and artistic fields, such as HCA at the David Sousa Conservatory of Music.

As a cultural consultant, I developed several projects with stakeholders, such as local authorities and private entities, including the relaunch of the Casa de la Musica Mirandesa and the Ciclo de Concertos da Graça. I have also worked with start-ups in the technological area, having won a second Poliempreende Prize with the start-up My Own Chef.

In 2019, I assumed the role of Director of the Sacred Music Service of the Church of São Roque - Lisbon (IMSRL/SCML), where I promoted several initiatives to relaunch sacred music, promoting solidarity and social initiatives such as "Música à Varanda" / "Tertuliando" / "Conversas com a Música." I held these positions until March 2023. As an organist and/or chapel master, I performed in several churches, such as Igreja da Graça, Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Encarnação in Lisbon, Vila Real Cathedral, Miranda do Douro Concathedral and collaborated with churches such as Church of São Nicolau, Conceição Velha, Nossa Senhora de Fátima in Lisbon, and Church of São Vicente in Abrantes.

My works are regularly performed, with premieres in several countries such as Spain, France, England, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Austria, Japan, the United States of America, Brazil, Chile, and Canada. I have received several composition awards and honorable mentions in international competitions.

I am currently a member of the Board of Directors of the European Composers Network, National Delegate of Tota Pulchra under the Patronage of Mgr. Gervais - Perfect Coadjutor of the Chapter of St. Peter's Basilica, Rome. I am the managing partner of an events and cultural consultancy company and perform HR and Team Leader roles at a German Human Resources and Technology Consultancy.

My works are regularly performed especially the Choral and Organ ones. I've premiered my Requiem in honor of the Victims of Covid-10 in 2022 - the first of his kind - currently I'm organist of the Church of Encarnação and Pena, both in Lisbon City center.

Alternative methods in search of the best teacher-student relationship with a view to the student's personal, intellectual and musical development, always seeking for the student to seek references and interconnect knowledge in different areas of knowledge. Classes are focused on the student and their objectives, each student is different. The main focus will be sustained on consolidated learning that will allow the student to develop their musical taste with the teachings received.
