About

I am a classically trained musician, beginning my studies at Chetham's School of Music, Manchester, before being awarded scholarships to some of the UK's leading music conservatoires. Whilst studying for my Bachelor's degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, I developed an avid curiosity for composing and went on to complete my Master's degree in Popular Music Composition.

As a teacher, my aim is to support and encourage the student to achieve their musical goals, whether it be playing competitively, or just for fun, nurturing their love and motivation for music. I am experienced and comfortable teaching all ages, abilities and genres - currently my pupils are aged between 4-75 and I'm always pleased to keep a varied mix!

I have a 100% success rate in tutoring students for ABRSM examinations, in addition to music scholarships for Westminster, Francis Holland, Rugby and St. Paul's School for Girls and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

As a performer I have given concerts around the UK, in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican, Bridgewater and Wigmore Halls, in addition to live broadcasts on local and national radio and TV.

When I'm not teaching, I compose music for moving image and media, having scored for feature films, shorts films, adverts, art installations and jingles. I am also learning Japanese :)

Chetham's School of Music, A Levels

I am especially interested in communication through music; I work hard to create a safe and creative space in the lessons in which the student feels able to try out new ideas and express themselves through their instrument and the music.
