Sara Tavakoli
About
I am a dedicated piano teacher with a strong passion for music education and student development. I teach students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced pianists, helping them build strong technique, musical understanding, confidence, and artistic expression.
I hold ABRSM certifications in Piano Performance and Music Theory, including:
• ABRSM Grade 6 Piano Performance
• ABRSM Grade 5 Piano Performance — passed with distinction
• ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory — passed with distinction
My lessons are carefully structured and personalized to each student’s goals, level, and learning style. Whether students want to learn piano for enjoyment, improve technique, play classical repertoire, or prepare for examinations, I provide clear guidance and professional support throughout the learning process.
I also prepare students for piano exams, including ABRSM examinations, with focused training in technique, repertoire, sight-reading, musical interpretation, and exam confidence. My goal is not only to help students pass exams successfully, but to develop strong and lasting musicianship.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, structured, and detail-oriented. I adapt lessons to each student individually to ensure steady progress and long-term improvement.
For beginner students, I focus on building a solid musical foundation through correct technique, rhythm training, note reading, posture, and listening skills. For intermediate and advanced students, lessons include technical refinement, musical interpretation, expression, phrasing, dynamics, and performance preparation.
I maintain high standards while creating a supportive and motivating learning environment. Students are encouraged to think musically, practice effectively, and develop confidence in their playing.
I also specialize in exam preparation and help students develop the discipline, accuracy, and performance skills needed for successful piano examinations such as ABRSM.
