He studied at Yale University, the USC Thornton School of Music, the Aspen Music Festival, Musician’s Institute (GIT), Mozarteum Sommerakademie (Salzburg, Austria) and Claremont Graduate University, from which he holds a Doctorate of Music Arts.  His latest solo recording for AIX Records is called Phonology: the Music of Erik Satie for Guitar which includes a performance with Grammy-winning™ guitarist/composer Andrew York (guitar). Scott lives in Los Angeles where he is a Professor of Guitar and Department of Music Chair at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). He has also been the director of the "La guitarra espanola"  course for CSU Summer Arts in Granada, Spain since 2017, which features artists such as Pepe Romero, the LAGQ, and Eliot Fisk.

I have been a professor of guitar at CSU Dominguez Hills in Los Angeles, CA since 2004 where I give private lessons, coach ensembles, and teach classroom guitar classes. I've given masterclasses throughout the US as well as in the UK, Germany, Mexico, Austria, China, and Spain.

I love working with all levels of students (including beginners) and do everything I can to help them reach their personal musical goals.

Bachelor of Music (USC Thornton School of Music), Masters of Music (Yale University), Doctorate of Musical Arts (CGU), Certificate (GIT/Musician's Institute).

I use "Classical Guitar Complete: From Basics to Bach" volumes one and two, which I wrote after years of teaching students of all levels. Both books are available as digital downloads on my website www.scottmorris.net and available in print from GSI (Guitar Salon International). Many of the concepts in the two books are referenced in my lessons videos for GSI.
