About

Greetings and warm regards. I am Sebastiano, an experienced music teacher eager to introduce myself to you. With a concise overview, allow me to share my musical background and teaching expertise.

Born in Milan, I embarked on my musical journey at a young age. I pursued my studies at the esteemed G. Verdi Conservatory, graduating at 19. Additionally, I furthered my education at the Siena Jazz Accademia Nazionale, enriching my understanding of jazz.

Since 2014, I have been dedicated to teaching music, working with students of diverse levels, from beginners to professionals. My repertoire spans both classical and jazz genres. Furthermore, I have contributed to orchestral productions and currently compose soundtracks for Italian films and documentaries.

As a music educator, my aim is to provide a supportive environment that nurtures your musical growth. Together, we will explore the intricacies of melody, harmony, and expression, unlocking your full potential.

I look forward to embarking on this musical journey with you. Let us discover the joy of music and its transformative power.

My teaching method for music is adaptable to each individual student, but it is grounded in practical instrument practice. I believe that theory and music history are better understood when directly connected to the practical aspects of the repertoire the student is working on.

During our lessons, we will cover various aspects of playing the instrument. The initial portion will focus on achieving a good sound quality, followed by technical exercises such as scales, arpeggios, and mixed techniques. We will then progress to working on songs, including transcriptions, sight-reading, and improvisation.

By incorporating these three components—sound, technique, and repertoire—I aim to provide students with a comprehensive range of skills that they can practice independently at home. The musical material, such as transcriptions and songs, will be thoroughly discussed to give students an understanding of the underlying theory and historical context related to the music they are studying.

Furthermore, students will be encouraged to listen to relevant musical recordings as a means of enhancing their knowledge of the music, the historical period, and the musicians involved. This practice will also serve as an exercise in ear training.

My ultimate goal is to equip students with a well-rounded musical education, fostering their autonomy and passion for music. Together, we will embark on a journey that encompasses theory, history, practical skills, and a deep appreciation for the art of music.

I am excited to guide you on this enriching musical path.

I strongly encourage my students to immerse themselves in music by actively listening to a wide variety of genres. Additionally, I emphasize the importance of consistent daily practice, even if it is for just 20 minutes. This practice should cover all the aspects we work on during our lessons, including long notes on the instrument, relaxation techniques for mastering the keys, and score studies to enhance repertoire and musical knowledge.

To support their progress, I provide my own transcriptions in PDF format, tailored to the student's needs. Furthermore, if requested, I can provide a summary of the work accomplished during our time together, serving as a valuable reference for the student's ongoing development.

By fostering a dedicated listening habit, regular practice, and personalized materials, I strive to create an environment that nurtures growth and enhances the student's overall musical experience.

I am committed to guiding my students on their musical journey and supporting their continued progress.
