About

I love Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga... any woman who sings while playing piano!

In 2018, I began teaching as a Loyola University New Orleans' Master of Music Therapy Candidate. I specialized in students with special needs, working at a hard-of-hearing school, an autism school, and a summer camp for at-risk youth.

Prior to my graduate studies, I studied classical piano at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts and earned a bachelor's degree in popular and commercial music. My concentration was pop voice, and I performed at House of Blues and other venues before my graduation.

When I am not teaching, I work as a recording artist and songwriter with a 5-time Grammy award-winning producer.

Teaching Style

I am positive and calm. I focus on preparing beginners for advanced training. Because of my music therapy background, I incorporate mental health into my students' education. I do this through fun activities, including songwriting!

Below are examples:

1. How are you? If you feel happy, play Cmaj7. If you feel sad, play Amin6.

2. To vent, replace some of the lyrics in "As It Was" with lyrics about your day. Then, we'll go over those lyrics' vowels.

As a visual learner, I teach with pictures and metaphors. I ask students if they understand, then I try a different approach if they don't. I also ask students what their interests are, choosing songs they want to learn. If they don't like something or want to try something new, we talk about it.

If I sound like a good fit for you, please sign-up for a free 15-minute trial lesson! I would love to meet you :)
