Sylvia Park
About
Hello! My name is Sylvia. I am happy to meet you here at Lessonface where the subjects I love to teach are represented.
For languages, I am CEDILS certified for Italian and TESOL certified for English.
For music, my strongest instrument is the piano (Royal Conservatory of Music grade 10), then flute (Royal Conservatory of Music grade 8 regional silver medal winner) and then voice. Choir is on pause for now but I still sing on my own for the beauty of the music.
I also speak French and Korean fluently. If you would like music or language lessons taught through those two languages, I can accomodate that as well.
My newest project is teaching Italian to foreigners. So far, I have taught English-speaking teens and adults.
For ESL, I have taught in a Korean public school. I also tutor a college-level ESL student.
For piano, I have prepared students for the RCM exams (up to grade 5). As for the flute, I have taught beginner flute to a student that later became a flautist. For voice, I am self-taught. I would love to coach voice students.
As for my teaching style, I like to start with a needs analysis and then build a personalized curriculum from there. I believe each student is important and that teaching styles should be adapted to the student. For music lessons for beginners, I draw from the Suzuki method.
