About
Tayllor Hanson is an experienced music instructor with a demonstrated history of working in the music industry.She has been singing for 20 years and has won many national awards and competed in the state Distinguished Young Women of Alabama. She is the vocal director and worship leader at the largest church in Alabama and the 10th largest church in America. Tayllor earned her Creative Arts degree in Christian Ministries with an Advanced Certificate of Ministry & Leadership focused in Worship/Music from Highlands College and Point University.
Tayllor has been teaching for 5 years and offers voice, piano, guitar and ukulele. She is a passionate musician and teacher and loves to help her students reach their goals.
Tayllor's teaching style is different for each student, because she believes that every person learns differently and has different interests.
She is very upbeat, encouraging and very personal with her students. Tayllor strives to make a connection with each student she teaches and to inspire them to become the best musician they can be.
Voice:
Tayllor uses the "Sing with Power" method. This method derived from "Speech Level Singing" created by Seth Riggs which was used on famous singers such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince and many more. In our lesson, we will start with vocal warmups and exercises to create connection, flexibility and coordination withitin the vocal chords. Then we will take what we've learned in our exercises and apply them to the selected song for that week, month, etc..
Recommended book would be Singing for the Stars written by Seth Riggs himself.
Piano:
Tayllor uses the Faber Piano Adventures curriculum for her piano students. This curriculum has options ranging the ages of preschool-adult and beginner-intermediate. Other materials may be used depending on student and interests.
Guitar:
Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book
We will begin with finger warmups that will strengthen the fingers and produce coordination, then we will complete the excercises and songs in the book. Afterwards we will learn new chords and apply them to popular songs.
