Tejesh Patil
About
Hi, I’m Tejesh Patil, a music educator, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist with over six years of experience in music and more than four years of teaching experience.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Music from KBC North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, and have further specialized in music pedagogy through the Pedagogy in Music Teaching program at Furtados School of Music. I have also completed professional development courses in Music Theory through The University of Edinburgh and Michigan State University, as well as Guitar course through Berklee College of Music.
My primary focus is Guitar, though I also teach Ukulele and Indian Bamboo Flute. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught more than 550 students through both school-based and online instruction. My students come from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds across multiple countries, and I have experience teaching learners of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced students preparing for graded examinations.
Alongside teaching, I have been an active performing musician. I performed professionally for approximately three years, including appearances at official events hosted at the residences of senior government dignitaries during my undergraduate studies. I was also a member of a performing band for two years and have extensive experience as a freelance performer at cultural programs and live events.
Whether your goal is personal enjoyment, performance, graded examinations, or long-term musical development, I look forward to helping you build a strong and lasting relationship with music.
Teaching Style
My teaching style combines structure, patience, and flexibility. Every student learns differently, so I adapt lessons according to individual goals, learning pace, and musical interests while maintaining a clear progression path.
I focus on helping students understand music rather than simply memorizing songs. Lessons are designed to develop strong technique, rhythm, musicality, ear training, and confidence while keeping learning enjoyable and motivating.
I believe that students progress best when they understand why they are learning something and how it contributes to their overall growth as musicians. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel challenged, encouraged, and inspired to improve consistently.
Curriculum
My lessons are tailored to each student's objectives, whether they are learning as a hobby, preparing for performances, or pursuing graded examinations such as Trinity College London or Rockschool (RSL).
A typical learning path may include:
• Instrument fundamentals and posture
• Technique development and exercises
• Chords, scales, and fretboard understanding
• Music theory and practical application
• Rhythm and timing development
• Ear training and musical listening skills
• Song learning and repertoire building
• Performance preparation and stage confidence
• Examination preparation (Trinity/RSL)
Rather than relying on a single textbook, I use a combination of structured exercises, customized lesson materials, graded repertoire, music theory resources, and songs selected according to the student's goals and interests. For examination students, I align lesson content with the appropriate Trinity College London or Rockschool syllabus requirements.
