Terami Phillips
About
I started voice lessons when I was about five years old and have always loved it. I also took on learning the organ for a few years, giving me keyboarding skills and, coupled with my voice lessons, a strong theory knowledge.
I started guitar as a child, but never really got into it. It was when I was a pre-teen I met and idolized my Australian cousin for her beautiful voice and guitar playing. This set me on the path to be like her. Through this I found a guitar teacher with the same passion and spent my teenage years learning from him. With this knowledge I self taught myself the ukulele, which is basically a very fun, simplified guitar.
I moved to Regina to find my own path, and I did. I have taught for three years in Regina through Custom Music and each year I found myself loving it more and more. For the past five years, I have been teaching in Melville.
Teaching Style
Patience, understanding, and fun. These are my main focuses in life and in teaching. As a music teacher, I strive to make all of my music lessons personalized to my student. I want my students to learn while having fun. My music repertoire has so far ranged from Nursery Rhymes to Taylor Swift; John Denver to Metallica; Elvis to Justin Bieber. Whatever your flavour, we can learn it.
