Thiago Oliveira

Thiago Oliveira was born in 1980 and in his teens gained strong reputation as a guitar teacher in his home town in Brazil. He Graduated as a classical guitarist at Universidade Federal de Uberlandia and took a Masters Degree at Universidade of Sao Paulo.

As an performing artist, he took part in the most varied musical instances, performing in musical theater ensembles, classical guitar chamber and solo recitals, jazz and Brazilian instrumental combos, metal bands. We can highlight two major productions of musicals Evita and Cabaret, being a member and songwriter of legendary metal singer Warrel Dane´s solo band and writing and co producing the artist´s final album, Shadow Work, on the prestigious label Century Media. He also performed with some of biggest names in the Brazilian metal scene such as Viper, Angra, Korzus and Shaman.

As a guitar personality, he wrote for Guitarload, and has also performed as a solo artist at NAMM 2019, Feira Conecta + 2019 and 2022, Expomusic 2009.

Started private teaching in 1997 in his hometown of Lavras, this amounts to 26 years of teaching experience.

Has taught in several private music schools such as Art Livre, Centro Musical, Lado B, Music Center, Atelier La Musique,

Has taught Introduction to Music Production in the Media Course at SENAC from 2012 to 2013 to classes of marketing students in such institution.

Acted as a lecturer on the theme of his Master´s degree, “Aquarelle by Sérgio Assad, An Analysis”, in prestigious institutions such as Seminário Vital Medeiros, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, Centro Musical de Catalão, Semana do Violão at Conservatório Padre José Maria Xavier, Conservatório Estadual de Música de Varginha and Escola Municipal de Música Maestro Elias Porfírio de Azevedo.

Has an extensive experience in guitar clinics in events such as: NAMM Show (2019), Imks (2018), Conservatório Estadual de Música de Varginha, Osasco Shopping, Feira Conecta +, Expomusic, and many others

Since 2002 Thiago began experimenting in the field of recording, this led to a prominent activity as a music producer styles ranging from pop, electronic, fusion to rock and metal styles. His extensive list of credits as a producer includes artists such as Warrel Dane,  Isa Nielsen, Megaira, Seventh Seal, Insane Driver, Total Disaster and many more.

Alongside his activities, Thiago has also composed some movie soundracks. These include Quero DIzer te Adeus (2015), Minha Potira (2020), Um Palmo (2021). These soundtracks include extensive use of electronic, orchestral, Brazilian Jazz and a wide variety of diverse musical textures.

Thiago has collaborated with many guitar related brands in both testing, promotion and reviewing several pieces of gear. Many tutorials, reviews and demos of gear can be found on his YouTube channel. Currently Thiago is an artist for Solar Guitars, Spectrasflex Cables, La Bella Strings, Mercuriall Audio and Schultz picks.
