About

I'm a modern violinist/composer graduated from Berklee College of Music. Classically trained since the age of 7, and now professionally playing modern music including Jazz/World/Modern Groove. Teaching has always been my passion, due to it, I came up with an efficient system of learning music theory and multiple genres of music. Specializing in helping students to develop a solid musicality and techniques to be able to play "Jazz and Improvise on any kind of music".

Insight Magazine described him as “ The practitioner of Eastern and Western culture ”.

Tsung-Yuan is a Taiwanese classical/jazz/world music violinist, erhuist, composer, sound designer and an electronic musician.

Though he studied under a formal classical music education, Tsung-Yuan dove into a wide variety of musical style, such as Jazz, World music, including Chinese, Middle Eastern, African, Balkan music, Microtonal music, Modern Groove/ Fusion, and Electronic music/sound design. In 2013 Fall, Tsung-Yuan entered the world most renowned contemporary music school Berklee College of Music with scholarships, majoring in Electronic Production and Design.

In 2014, he premiered his arrangement, “Spring Festival Overture”, as an erhu soloist in Harvard Chinese Gala, along with Berklee World String Orchestra and 4-time Grammy winner celloist and composer, Eugene Friesen. Two years later, he had been chosen to perform with International Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at Carnegie Hall as a solo erhuist.

In 2015, Tsung Yuan Lee toured in China with his Chinese/Jazz fusion quartet for the first time and was interviewed by Insight Magazine as their theme of the month.

Rahman ; Progressive rock band, Dream Theater……etc.

I love to find ways to bring out my student's innate talent, helping them develop their voice.  I believe learning models is important, being having a solid knowledge of what has been done in the history, as well as having the tool to analyze it. This is a crucial point of developing our own voice. Eventually my student will have the ability to learn on their own and unleash their creativity through music.
