About
My name is Tyler Rennix, and I have been playing since I could walk. I play Mandolin, Guitar, Ukulele and Fiddle. I grew up going to bluegrass festivals, and was lucky enough to take lessons with some of the best in the business, and learned to love being a tool for others success in learning to play as well. As much as i enjoy playing in front of a crowd, my real calling, and lies in teaching others.

Teaching Style
I teach by ear, and learining to hear intervals, as well as how to identify chord patterns so that a few months after working with me, you'll be able to identify the key of a brand new song, as well as the chords being played. I believe in using intuition, and ear training to let one let the music flow, rather than trying to control every note. Improvisation is a beautiful thing.
Curriculum
I teach music theory fundamentals right off the bat, then use songs of the students choice to get them to have fun learning why knowing some music theory is game changing in playing music. I use The Amazing slow downer to aid students in getting timing down, as well as pick stroke theory and foot tapping, ultimately leading to the student learning how to teach themselves down the line.
