About

I was born in 2008 in Yerevan, Armenia.

From 2014 to 2020, I studied piano performance at the Tchaykovsky Specialized School of Music in my hometown under the guidance of Tatyana Arustamova. Around the same time, I also began studying the flute.

Between 2019 and 2023, I continued my flute education at the Alexander Spendiaryan School of Music with Narek Avagyan, the principal flutist of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2023, I have been studying at the Arno Babajanyan State Musical-Pedagogical College in Yerevan, continuing my work with the same teacher.

Throughout my musical education, I’ve had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses with several renowned flutists and pedagogues, including Benedek Csalog, Aleksandr Haskin, Jean-Christophe Frisch, Anna Komarova, Elizaveta Ivanovna, and Zara Parvanyan.

I have taken part in a number of national and international competitions, and my achievements include:

  • 1st prize at the 3rd Lugano International Music Competition in Lugano, Switzerland (2023)
  • 2nd prize at the 3rd Otar Taktakishvili International Competition in Tbilisi, Georgia (2024)
  • 4th prize at the 9th Varna International Flute Competition in Varna, Bulgaria (2024)
  • 1st prize at the 14th International Contest-Festival “Art Music” in Yerevan, Armenia (2023)
  • 4th prize at the 13th International Contest-Festival “Art Music” in Yerevan, Armenia (2022)
  • 2nd prize at the 4th “Kamerton” International Competition of Performing Art in Yerevan, Armenia (2024)

I regularly perform in flute recitals and have appeared at various international festivals, including the 25th International Organ Festival Armonie Sacre Percorrendo le Terre di Liguria in Rapallo, Italy (2023); the “Flute Bridges” Festival in Yerevan, Armenia (2022 and 2024); and the First International Organ Music Festival in Yerevan (2022).

Since 2023-2025, I have also been a member of the “Yerevan” Youth Symphony Orchestra, performing as flutist and piccolist.

Teaching Style

While still at the beginning of my professional journey, I have already had the opportunity to work with younger students and share my experience. My approach to teaching emphasizes the development of a beautiful, flexible sound, strong fundamentals of technique, and a deep understanding of musical phrasing and style. I strive to create a focused yet encouraging learning environment, where students feel both supported and challenged. I believe that teaching is not only about technical progress, but also about cultivating a genuine love and curiosity for music.

Curriculum

I follow a traditional flute school approach, focusing first and foremost on the fundamentals: sound production, tone quality, breath control, and dynamic range. In the early stages, I place strong emphasis on building a solid technical foundation — including correct posture, embouchure, fingerings, and basic note reading. Only after these essential elements are established do I gradually introduce method books and more advanced musical texts. Depending on the student’s level, I may recommend standard flute literature such as exercises by Taffanel & Gaubert, Moyse (De la Sonorité), Andersen studies, and selected solo repertoire that supports both musical and technical growth.
