About
Hello!
My expertise is in teaching children, teens, adults, and seniors the classical guitar at the beginner and intermediate levels, in a virtual format. I teach regular after school hours and morning hours for homeschooled students and retirees. Students find that the classical guitar is a fun and enriching instrument to study as part of their daily routine. This instrument helps to make children and teens better problem solvers and better students in their other areas of studies. Students will learn to become well-rounded and cultured members of society through their study of an eclectic instrument enjoyed by people the world over.
I have taught 100's of students across the US and Canada for well over a decade. Teaching is my passion and my purpose. I treat every student as a unique musician capable of playing anything on their instrument if they work hard and practice diligently.

As an educator, I have taught lessons at public schools, private schools, private studios, festivals, summer camps, and colleges in Maryland, New York City, Virginia, Quebec, and Michigan. These schools include Mason Community Arts Academy in Fairfax, VA, St. Paul’s Private Schools in Baltimore, MD, MacArthur High School on Long Island, NY, Jackson College in Jackson, MI, and the Midsummer Music Dream Festival and School in Quebec, CA. Currently, I teach at Grace Music School on Long Island, NY.
As a performer, I have performed in over 15 U.S. states and abroad in Canada and Europe. These performances have taken place at the Long Island Guitar Festival, Midsummer Music Dream Festival, Port Washington Theater on Long Island, NY, Bruce Museum in Greenwich, CT, DiMenna Center for Classical Music in NYC, Shenandoah Guitar Festival in Winchester, VA, and the Philippines Consulate in NYC.
I hold undergraduate and graduate degrees in music education, performance, and history from Long Island University and Towson University where I studied with Harris Becker and Troy King respectively. In addition to this schooling, I have studied guitar with Colin Davin at the Shenandoah Conservatory and with Nicolas Porto Silva at Stony Brook University.
Teaching Style
As a classical guitar instructor, I teach students the fundamentals of right and left hand technique, musicianship, notation reading, learning pieces, finger-style playing, chords, and more.
Every musical education starts with a strong emphasis on the fundamentals; once these basics are mastered in an organized and engaging way, students can delve deeper into the guitar repertoire.
Students are encouraged to provide examples of pieces and styles that they would like to eventually learn on the classical guitar.
I use a variety of methods and books with my students. I make sure to tailor the curriculum to each students individual needs and goals.
Through musical exercises, studies, and educational trainings, students will learn concepts like sight reading, music theory, sight singing, musicianship, aural skills, and music history.
Every student should learn to be an independent musician. Students will be taught how to learn on their own and bring practiced work into lessons for fine tuning and further detailed analysis.
I have vast experience preparing students for competitions, exams(ABRSM,RCM,NYSSMA), recitals, colleges auditions, and more.
