Hey! I'm Yaniza :) I'm a Jewish pop singer-songwriter and teaching artist from NYC! I sing and teach in English and Spanish. I recently earned a Masters Degree from Teachers College at Columbia University in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Music Ed. I have been a classroom teacher and professional musician for about 7 years. My original music on Spotify has been streamed over 100,000 times, and my 11,000+ YouTube subscribers enjoy originals, covers and ukulele tutorials on my channel regularly. I have toured the US, been on radio shows, and recently signed with booking agency, Degy Entertainment. While I have so much fun performing and making music, I also LOVE teaching and connecting with eager budding musicians! My specialty lies in early childhood, but I have taught ukulele, beginner acoustic guitar, and songwriting to musicians of all ages. I'd love the chance to learn from you and share my knowledge to get you where you want to be in your musical journey!
My teaching style involves learning from you as I teach. Everyone has their own unique desires and ways of learning, and I aim to figure this out with you in order to bring you to where you want to be. I'm a smiley, bubbly person and this definitely shines through in my teaching. I take what I learned at Columbia and my previous schools to figure out the best ways to relay information. For younger students, I also include games and usually a stuffed animal comes to visit every now and then :) I'm happy to bring them out for adults too though haha!
