About

Yasmin Koubi is a music teacher with proficiency in violin and viola, as well as piano. Yasmin holds a teaching certification in the O’Connor String Method, a method developed by world-class fiddler and composer, Mark O'Connor, which focuses on sight-reading and ear-training as well as classical music theory. Unlike its counterpart the popular Suzuki method, the O'Connor Method encourages composition and improvisatory skills. Yasmin's teaching capabilities sent her to the Youth and Music Israel summer camp in Tel Aviv as the orchestral teaching assistant, giving her the ability to teach in group settings as well as a private instructor.

Yasmin received her bachelor’s degree in viola studies from Florida International University as a student of Michael Klotz. She then obtained her masters degree in music business from FIU as well. Yasmin has performed a wide range of orchestral pieces at a variety of venues across the globe, from Miami’s historic Vizcaya to the Royal Dublin Society Hall in Ireland. Her interest in music business has taken her to Cuba as an assistant tour manager to the FIU Choir. She also helped organize the Fermata Music Festival in Mitzpe Ramon, Israel. She currently performs with the Broward Symphony as well as with other local musicians for private events.
