About

Yulia Block has joined the Lessonface Teaching team in 2017. She is an active performer and enthusiastic educator.

Born in Chelyabinsk, Russia, Ms. Block received a Bachelor of Music performance degree from the Roosevelt University Chicago College of Performing Arts in 2015 and a Master’s Degree in Percussion Performance at the DePaul School of Music in 2018.

Currently Ms. Block is a percussion faculty at the DePaul School of Music Community Music Division, The People’s Music School, Oak Park and River Forest High School and a percussionist with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra.

As an active freelance musician, Ms. Block has performed in Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Halls in New York City, Chicago Symphony Center , as well as Europe and Russia.

Ms. Block is affiliated with the Chicago Federation of Musicians (CFM)
