About

Hi! I am professional saxophonist/clarinetist and am passionate about helping students become the best musicians they can be.  I studied clarinet at Juilliard and later studied jazz and improvisation from some of New York's leading jazz musicians. In addition to saxophone and clarinet, I have experience playing and teaching flute, piano, composition, electronic music, and music production. I have over a decade of teaching experience and currently teach lessons at Bard College and Yale University.

The goal of my teaching is to give every student a positive experience in music. That can mean learning to play your favorite songs, practicing music for band class, preparing for competitive conservatory auditions, or composing your own music. Whatever your goals, I will guide you toward success while cultivating joy and an appreciation for music.

Bachelor of Music Degree from the Juilliard School, 2017; Clarinet Teacher at Yale University, 2023 - present; Clarinet Teacher at Bard College, 2018 - present; Teaching Artist with the Living Artist Collaborative (formerly Bridge Arts Ensmeble), 2018 - present

With over a decade of teaching experience, I have developed a teaching method that accounts for the specific skills of each student. I believe that it is important for students to practice music that fits their skill level, and that they should play music that they enjoy listening to. I give my students assignments that challenge them but that are achievable with practice. Too hard? It get's frustrating. Too easy? Boring! For that reason, I don't rely on cookie-cutter learning methods. I tailor all of my classes and assignments to the level of each student.
