About
Hi, my name is Ariel Weiss. I am a classical pianist from Israel and a graduate of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University, where I earned a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance.
My degree is in the Division of Musical Performance, Piano, and authorizes me to instruct piano in professional musical institutions. During my studies, I studied piano with Prof. Tomer Lev and Arnon Erez, and completed a two-year piano pedagogy course with Hana Shalgi, a renowned Israeli piano teacher known for training many award-winning pianists. I received 95 in Piano Pedagogy A and 94 in Piano Pedagogy B. I have been playing piano for over 40 years.
I teach students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced pianists preparing for conservatory, academy auditions, exams, competitions, or recitals.
My teaching combines a thorough, structured approach with enjoyable and inspiring lessons. With beginners, especially children, I focus on building a strong musical foundation while keeping the first steps fun and rewarding. With intermediate and advanced students, I work deeply on technique, tone production, interpretation, practice methods, and classical repertoire.
A central part of my approach is developing healthy, natural technique: using arm weight, relaxed movement, and efficient coordination to create a beautiful sound and finger agility without tension.
In addition to teaching and playing, I also work professionally in concert filming and recording, combining my musical background with audio and video production. This experience gives me a strong understanding of sound, performance, presentation, and the musical details that make playing convincing.

Teaching Style
My teaching style is structured, patient, and encouraging. I combine solid technical foundations with enjoyable, musical lessons adapted to each student’s age, level, and goals. With beginners, I focus on fun progress, reading, rhythm, listening, and healthy habits from the start. With advanced students, I work deeply on technique, tone production, interpretation, practice methods, and classical repertoire.
Curriculum
My method combines structured classical training with an individual approach to each student. I work on healthy technique, tone production, reading, rhythm, ear development, musical expression, and effective practice habits.
For beginners, I like to build strong foundations from the start while keeping lessons fun and rewarding. I often use simple melodies, rhythm work, ear-training games, and carefully chosen beginner materials. I especially like Bartók’s Mikrokosmos for developing coordination, reading, rhythm, listening, and musical awareness. When appropriate, I also use methods such as Piano Adventures or Alfred’s Basic Piano Library.
For intermediate and advanced students, I use classical repertoire, technical exercises, sight-reading, theory, and graded materials such as ABRSM or RCM when useful. I also create personalized exercises and practice plans for each student, especially for technique, arm weight, tone production, and difficult passages.
