Hi I'm Astrid!

Music brings me a deep appreciation and understanding of life. I love to share this appreciation and inspire blossoming flautists through this beautiful craft that I’ve developed over many years of practice. I’ve played the flute since I was 8 years old and have developed a strong skill set, as well as seasoned experience in a wide variety of musical settings.

I recently graduated after 10 years in the Young Musicians Choral Orchestra (YMCO) music program and am currently pursuing my musical path through Wayne State’s Bachelor of Music program, studying jazz. I have played numerous gigs, ranging from KQED Opera accompaniment to three annual performances at Yoshi’s Jazz venue. I have experience with both the professional and personal sides of music, and I am well versed in the business!

I focus on teaching the basic fundamentals of flute playing and guiding students through the transition into classical techniques. I have experience teaching novice flute students and helping them excel under my instruction.
