About

Hello! I am Benita - a professional violinist, opera singer, and music educator who loves helping students of all ages and skill levels discover the excitement, creativity, and joy of making music.

I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance from the University of Miami, along with master's degrees in both Violin Performance and Vocal Performance. I have performed with professional orchestras and ensembles throughout the United States, Europe and Brazil, including performances with the Venice Symphony Orchestra, Palm Beach Symphony, Opera Naples, The Boca Symphonia, among others.

With over 10 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students of all ages and levels - from complete beginners discovering music for the first time to advanced students preparing for auditions, performances, and further musical studies.

I teach a wide range of genres and enjoy creatively exploring different musical styles, arrangements, and repertoire for both violin and voice, including:

  • Classical and contemporary

  • Pop and film music

  • Broadway and musical theater

  • Folk, fiddle, and world music

  • Classical voice and opera

  • Music theory and ear training

My goal as a music educator is to create a positive, inspiring, and supportive environment where students feel encouraged to explore their musical interests, build confidence, and stay motivated to grow as musicians.

Teaching Style

Every student has a unique musical journey, and my lessons are tailored to individual goals, interests, and learning styles. Whether you are a young beginner, a returning adult student, or an aspiring musician, we will build strong fundamentals while keeping music exciting and rewarding.

🎵 Lessons Focus On:

🎻 Strong Foundations & Technique — posture, tone production, intonation, shifting, and efficient playing habits.

🎶 Musical Expression & Confidence — developing artistry, creativity, and the ability to communicate through music.

🎼 Musicianship Skills — sight-reading, rhythm, ear training, music theory, and overall musical understanding.

Performance & Audition Preparation — building stage confidence, performance skills, and effective practice strategies.

🎤 Voice Training — healthy vocal technique, breath support, tone development, diction, and musical interpretation.

I believe learning music should be both structured and inspiring - combining discipline with creativity, curiosity, and the joy of making music.
