About
I believe that the best music lessons teach far more than just how to play an instrument. For over 12 years, I have been teaching students of all ages the art of creativity - where technical skill, dynamics, ear knowledge, and the ability to "feel" what you play all combine into one lesson. My students encounter a fully imersive learning experience that never gets stale, because I've developed a style of teaching that is both educational and FUN!
I have taught music lessons in several professional locations over the course of my professional career. After getting my high school diploma from Heirway Christian Academy in 2009, I began teaching guitar lessons there part time while taking college classes. I have also taught lessons at Meta Music Education in Sandy Springs, MEBUS (Kennesaw State University's Music & Entertainment business program), and as an independent contractor for my own business, CH Music Productions. I have played in at least 5 different bands over the course of the last decade and also have experience playing in church settings as part of a worship team.
In addition to teaching music, I also have several years worth of experience teaching songwriting and production. I have produced music for over a dozen artists, including Jennifer Jess, Grace Conley, Seasons, and Mostly Strangers. I enjoy writing songs in different genres and recreating/reimagining songs. I won an award in 2019 for a production project and ended up studying abroad in London for 3 weeks that year.
Teaching Style
My teaching style comes from the way I learned to play - through feeling and exploration. You will learn music theory, songwriting, live performance techniques, music production, and more. All of these things combine to turn music into something more than just notes and tempo. It becomes a full scale form of creativity that is easy to fall in love with!
Curriculum
The only source of literature that I recommend for my students is "The Music Lesson" by Victor Wooten. All other media will be created by me based on the student's individual personality and needs. I also offer more personalized forms of music lessons, including but not limited to:
-Worship bass, piano, and drums
-Songwriting for rock, pop, and metal artists
-Intro to Music Production
-Logic Pro basics
-Recording music at home
-Playing in a church band
