About
I am a conservatory-trained violin, piano and music theory teacher who loves helping students build confidence and genuinely enjoy making music. Since 2020, I have taught violin, piano, and solfège to children, teenagers, and adults, both in person and online. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me is seeing my students develop their musical abilities, become more confident, and build their own connection with music.
My musical education began at the age of six with piano. At the age of ten, I began my formal conservatory education at Uludağ University State Conservatory in Bursa, Turkey, where I studied violin and solfège alongside piano. I graduated in 2022 from the String Instruments Department with violin as my principal instrument. During my conservatory years, I gained experience in solo, chamber music, and orchestral performance. In 2019, my sister and I received the Jury Special Award as a duo in a chamber music competition organized by our conservatory. In 2021, I was accepted into the Doğuş Children's Symphony Orchestra. I also performed with the Uludağ University State Conservatory Orchestra in productions including The Nutcracker and Don Giovanni.
Alongside my orchestral and chamber music experience, I have performed as a violinist at private events and participated in various musical ensembles and projects outside the conservatory. I bring both my performance and teaching experience into my lessons while adapting to each student's individual goals, level, and musical interests. I look forward to meeting new students, sharing my love of music, and helping each of them grow and enjoy their own musical journey!
Teaching Style
I believe that learning music should be both motivating and enjoyable. I adapt each lesson to the student's level, learning pace, goals, and musical interests. I pay close attention to what my students want to learn and the pieces they enjoy playing, while also helping them build a strong technical and musical foundation.
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and flexible. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and progressing at their own pace. Depending on each student's goals, we can focus on areas such as technique, musical expression, sight-reading, rhythm, and developing confidence while playing.
Most importantly, I want my students to enjoy making music. Whether you are picking up an instrument for the first time or already have experience and want to improve your skills, I will shape our lessons around your individual goals and help you progress in a way that feels both productive and enjoyable.
Curriculum
My teaching method varies depending on each student's age, level, and goals. For beginners, I focus on developing a strong foundation in technique, note reading, rhythm, ear training, and basic music theory. As students progress, we gradually introduce more advanced techniques, musical expression, and repertoire.
Depending on the student's level and individual needs, I use and recommend materials from methods such as Suzuki, Seybold, and Sitt, together with additional exercises and repertoire. I do not believe that one method works for every student, so I select materials individually and also encourage students to bring pieces they are personally interested in learning.
When helpful, I also incorporate solfège and music theory into lessons to help students develop a deeper understanding of the music they are playing.
