Cindy Achieng
About
Hi there! My name is Cindy, or Cindie in French, and I'm from Kenya. I'm passionate about languages, communication, and teaching.
My journey with the French language began in 2012 at ACK Primary School, where I first discovered my love for French and built a strong foundation in the language. I continued studying French at Moi Girls High School from 2016 to 2019, where I further developed my language skills while actively participating in French theatrical arts, cultural activities, and language events.
These experiences greatly enhanced my confidence, fluency, pronunciation, and appreciation of Francophone culture. After high school, I continued using French both academically and professionally, working as a French translator, which has allowed me to apply the language in real-world situations and help bridge communication between French and English speakers. I love learning about different cultures, meeting new people, and sharing my knowledge in a simple and enjoyable way.
I have several years of experience as a tutor. I've helped students improve their French skills, both spoken and written. My lessons are tailored to each student's needs, and I always make sure my students feel confident and motivated.
If you're looking for a fun, effective course that fits your pace, I'm the tutor for you! My goal is to help you progress with confidence and without stress. Whether you're a beginner or advanced learner, or you're learning French for travel, school, work, professional communication, or exam preparation, I'm here to support you with kindness and encouragement. Together, we'll make learning French simple and enjoyable.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is learner-centered, communicative, and outcome-oriented, with lessons tailored to each student's proficiency level, learning objectives, and preferred learning pace.
I employ the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach, integrating grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading, and writing within meaningful real-life contexts. Lessons emphasize active participation, continuous formative assessment, constructive feedback, and spaced revision to promote long-term retention and language fluency.
By fostering a supportive and interactive learning environment, I help students develop both linguistic competence and the confidence to communicate effectively in French across academic, professional, and everyday situations.
Curriculum
My lessons follow a structured yet flexible approach based on the student's objectives. Each lesson includes vocabulary development, grammar practice, listening activities, conversation practice, reading comprehension, pronunciation exercises, and practical homework when appropriate.
I use a communicative teaching approach that focuses on using French in real-life situations rather than memorizing rules alone. Lessons are supported with authentic materials such as articles, videos, dialogues, audio recordings, and interactive exercises.
