It gives me tremendous pleasure to see my students become musicians ! I have taught different instruments for decades after music college and now focus only on teaching ukulele. I lived most of my life in Hawaii, Home of the Ukulele. Ukulele is the best musical instrument to simply enjoy playing music. I Love beginners and am here to help you when ever you need a little guidance or to help you reach your goal of playing the ukulele. I teach all ages and all levels. I offer one parent and one child to count as one student if you would like to learn together.. Teaching Style
My #1 objective is to get my students away from me as quick as I can.
How ?.....by teaching them the basics as easy, simply, quickly, with as little wasted time and frustration as possible saving money and having you playing music in your life forever. You are an individual and get to chose your own goals. I do not use any of the courses I have created because they are for groups. Each lesson is created for you each week from my library and your needs. I am very passionate about my teaching. I don't succeed unless you do and I know how if you have the desire.
Curriculum
I refer to my "method" as the KISS Method which stands for Keep It Simple Stupid, "stupid" referring to me.. Teaching is the art of knowing what to teach and when to present it. I know "how" to present it. There are basics that everyone needs to know like posture, how to learn chords with muscle memory and how not to, most commonly used chords, strumming, tuning and reading TABlature for ukulele. You will be amazed at how easy it is to learn music and to play. These are all extremely simple things and this is where the KISS Method really shines. ....no wasted time, ......Happiness

*began teaching at Howren Music Company in Charlotte NC in 1976 *began teaching for Aloha Music in 2022, now closed. *the only Foreigner in Asia with a Work Permit for Ukulele Consultant. *now only accepting online ukulele students and new to this site
