About

I’m Xavier, a professional violinist and music educator from Brazil with experience performing as a concertmaster (Spalla), teaching students of different levels, and collaborating with orchestras, ensembles, and other musicians.

My musical journey includes performance training through festivals and masterclasses, as well as professional experience with orchestras and musical groups. I currently work as a musician and educator, combining performance experience with a passion for helping students develop their own musical voice.

I believe music should be both technically rewarding and personally enjoyable. Whether you are beginning your journey, returning to the violin, preparing for a performance, or looking to improve your technique and musicality, I aim to create lessons that are focused, encouraging, and adapted to your goals.

Teaching Style

My teaching style combines technical development with musical expression. I believe that learning an instrument is not simply about playing the correct notes—it is about understanding the music, developing confidence, and learning how to communicate through your instrument.

I adapt my approach to each student’s age, experience, learning pace, and musical interests. Some students may need a stronger focus on technique and fundamentals, while others may benefit from working on repertoire, interpretation, improvisation, or performance skills.

My lessons are supportive and structured, but I also encourage students to explore their creativity and develop their own musical personality. I want students to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and discovering new possibilities through music.

Curriculum

My lessons can include:

  • Instrument technique and posture
  • Bow control and tone production
  • Intonation and accuracy
  • Scales, exercises, and technical studies
  • Sight-reading and music notation
  • Music theory and musical understanding
  • Repertoire development
  • Musical interpretation and phrasing
  • Performance preparation
  • Improvisation and creativity
  • Practice strategies and effective study routines

I organize lessons according to the student’s current level and goals. Beginners receive a strong foundation in technique and musical concepts, while more advanced students can work on challenging repertoire, interpretation, performance preparation, and more advanced technical development.

I also encourage students to practice with purpose. Rather than simply repeating a passage, we identify specific challenges and develop practical strategies to improve them.

My goal is for every student to leave a lesson with a clear understanding of what they are working on and how to continue improving between lessons.

Students can expect a patient and encouraging environment where questions are welcome and progress is built step by step. I enjoy helping students overcome technical difficulties, become more confident performers, and discover music that motivates them.

Whether your goal is to learn your first pieces, improve your technique, prepare for an audition or recital, or simply enjoy playing the violin, we can build a learning plan around you.
