About

I am a music teacher and performer specializing in Andean instruments, with extensive experience teaching the quena and zampoña (Andean panpipes). Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students of different ages, levels, and backgrounds, including students from different countries.

Spanish is my primary language and the language I am most comfortable teaching in. I also have a basic command of English, which I use as a secondary language to communicate with international students.

My teaching approach combines instrumental technique with a progressive and structured methodology, adapted to each student's level and individual goals. Lessons cover essential aspects such as embouchure, breathing, sound production and tone quality, articulation, fingering, scales, repertoire, and musical expression.

As a quena teacher and researcher, I have developed my own teaching materials and methodology. My aim is not only to teach students how to play songs, but also to help them progressively understand their instrument and develop their musical skills.

Lessons are 100% online and personalized, allowing me to teach students in the United States, Europe, and other countries. No previous experience is required. Students can start from beginner level and gradually progress to more advanced technical and musical concepts.

My goal is to help every student develop a solid technical foundation, musical independence, and an authentic connection with Andean music, learning the quena or zampoña through a clear, organized, and motivating approach.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is personalized, progressive, and practical. I adapt each lesson to the student's level, learning pace, and musical goals. I aim to create a friendly and motivating environment where students can learn with confidence and enjoy the process.

I combine clear explanations, practical demonstrations, and progressive exercises, focusing on breathing, embouchure, sound production, fingering, articulation, music reading, and repertoire. My goal is to help each student understand what they are doing and gradually develop independence, confidence, and musical expression.

Curriculum

My teaching method for quena and zampoña (Andean panpipes) is progressive, practical, and personalized. Each student progresses according to their level, learning pace, and musical goals. Lessons combine instrumental technique, music reading, progressive exercises, and repertoire, with the aim of developing a solid technical foundation and expressive musical performance.

For the quena, we focus particularly on embouchure, breathing and air control, sound production and tone quality, fingering, articulation, scales, arpeggios, and the development of different registers. For the zampoña, we work on sound production, breathing, coordination, note distribution, and techniques specific to the instrument.

Students receive learning materials and recommended texts selected according to their level, including technical exercises, sheet music, scales, studies, and repertoire from Andean music and other musical styles. I also use my own teaching materials, developed through my experience as a teacher and performer, to provide a clear, structured, and progressive learning process.
