Jerrod Preston
About
My name is Jerrod Preston. I am a seasoned musicians with over a decade of experience touring and playing live. I started my journey as a young bassist at the age of 13 and used my skills to get all over the world. Today, I have played on every single continent except Africa, Central, South America and the poles. All of that was because I studied, worked hard and treated music as an opportunity to learn! I hope that I can pass along my love of music, bass techniques and love for performing to new students or even seasoned players wanting to learn more.
Teaching Style
I like to run students through the fundamentals and drill great warm-ups and technique in first! As a bass player or guitarist; your hand health is priority! A good warm-up regiment and focused practice are the keys to developing your skillset as a player and keeping your hands healthy. I prefer a hands on approach where I give the student ample time to learn and then we implement it together to reach a better understanding. This ensures every lesson gives the student a chance to retain real progress, knowledge and benefits!
Curriculum
I teach via webcam!
I teach mainly out of the Bass Grimoire and Guitar Grimoire series. These are very cheap, affordable and easy references to get at almost every major store. I've had great success working with students in these books and hope that together, we can conquer the text and get you ripping!
