Kristina Harper

Hi students! My name is Kristina and I am so happy to meet you!

I have a PhD in English, and a master's degree in writing. I am a former university professor, having taught English and writing at universities across the US for more than ten years--often to students who are learning English. Additionally, I have tutored English-language learners (of all ages) for an additional five years.

Whether you’re writing a thesis, preparing for a conference, or just want to speak with more precision, I’m here to help. I work only with adult learners, and I look forward to supporting your goals. I am so honored to be a part of your journey learning this exciting and useful language!

My teaching methods are student-centered and strengths-based. I build lessons and conversations around your strengths, interests, goals and needs!

Our lessons can be conversational, or formal, based on your needs and preferences--but we will always have fun! We can work on your academic specialties (research, writing and presentations), professional language needs (presentations, interviewing and professional small talk), or your everyday language needs for travel or hobbies.

My approach is always flexible, and I look forward to building a customized study plan just for you! I teach from "authentic" language materials (i.e., I do not normally teach from a textbook), selected for you based on your preferences, expertise and goals.
