13+ years teaching and performing professionally.
I’m a professional double bassist based in San Antonio, teaching students of all ages and levels—from young beginners to adult learners and advanced musicians.
I perform with orchestras throughout Central and South Texas and have taught private lessons, masterclasses, sectionals, and students in elementary through high school orchestra programs.
Teaching Style
Supportive, individualized, and encouraging.
I tailor lessons to each student’s goals, experience, and learning style. We focus on strong technique, tone, intonation, rhythm, and musicianship while keeping lessons practical and enjoyable.
I also teach students how to practice effectively so they can problem-solve independently and make confident progress between lessons.
Curriculum
No one-size-fits-all method.
I select methods and repertoire based on each student’s age, level, and goals. Materials may include Simandl, Vance Progressive Repertoire, Suzuki Bass School, scales, etudes, solo and orchestral repertoire, and audition music.
We use the materials that best support each student’s progress and musical goals.
