Mirco Lieber
About
At the Music Academy in Ljubljana, I completed a Master's diploma in classical concert accordion and a Bachelor's diploma in harpsichord. I later earned a diploma in sound engineering at the SAE Institute. Since 2015, I've continued my studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, completing a master's in harpsichord under Prof. Wolfgang Glüxam and organ under Prof. Wolfgang Capek, and finishing my studies in the class of Prof. Céline Frisch on October 28, 2021.
As an accordionist and music producer, I've recorded several CDs of my own arrangements in Slovenia, performed in concert halls across Central Europe, and appeared as a guest on radio and television in Slovenia, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. My own students have gone on to win more than 150 awards at international and Slovenian competitions.
Today I teach piano, accordion, organ, harpsichord, and melodica — spanning classical, folk, pop, and jazz styles — entirely online via Zoom, to students of every age and level worldwide.

Teaching Style
As a concert musician myself, I bring real performance experience into every lesson — not just theory, but what it actually takes to walk on stage and connect with an audience. Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or refining advanced technique, I tailor the approach to where you are and where you want to go.
A free trial lesson is the easiest way to see if we're a good fit — I'd be glad to have you join me.
Curriculum
My method is built on the idea that technique and musicality should never be taught separately. Every lesson combines focused technical work — posture, hand position, fingering, tone — with real musical material, so progress on the instrument always connects back to actual playing, not isolated drills.
Lessons follow a clear structure: a warm-up and technique focus, repertoire work, and a concrete goal to carry into the next session. For beginners, this means building solid fundamentals from day one. For advanced students, it means refining interpretation, dynamics, and stage-ready performance, informed by my own experience as a touring concert musician.
For the past 30 years, I've taught all keyboard instruments — piano, accordion, organ, harpsichord, and melodica — covering everything from foundational technique to advanced performance, across classical, folk, pop, and jazz styles. My curriculum is structured enough to build solid technique, and flexible enough to follow your interests, whether that's mastering a specific piece, preparing for a performance, or simply playing for the joy of it.
I welcome students of every age and level—complete beginners who have never touched an instrument, returning players picking things back up after years away, and advanced students preparing for exams, competitions, or performances. What matters most is a genuine interest in learning; I adjust pacing, repertoire, and approach to fit wherever you're starting from.
