Monica Evans

Hi! I’m Monica, a vocalist, musician, actress, performer, and music educator with a B.A. in Commercial Music from California Baptist University. I teach voice to students of varying ages and experience levels, as well as beginner piano and guitar. I also offer self-tape feedback and on-camera performance guidance.

My background spans music education, live performance, studio recording, worship music, musical theatre, film, and contemporary commercial music. Being both an educator and a working performer has taught me that developing as an artist is about more than learning the right notes or lines—it’s also about confidence, creativity, communication, and learning to trust yourself.

Every student has different goals, strengths, and ways of learning, so I tailor lessons to the individual. My goal is to create an encouraging environment where students can develop strong skills, ask questions, challenge themselves, and enjoy becoming more confident musicians and performers.

I have experience teaching private voice, piano, and guitar to students of different ages and experience levels. My work with students includes technique, musicianship, sight-reading, ear training, music theory, repertoire, performance preparation, and confidence-building.

Outside of teaching, I work professionally as a vocalist, musician, and actress with experience in live performance, studio recording, film, musical theatre, and worship music. As a working actress, I regularly prepare self-tape auditions and can help performers with audition preparation, performance choices, eyelines, framing, and becoming more comfortable and confident on camera.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, adaptable, and student-centered. I want students to understand not only what they’re doing, but why they’re doing it. I encourage questions, experimentation, and mistakes as part of the learning process while helping each student build the skills and confidence to become a more independent artist.
