About
Hi, I am Nidhi Prasad. I have 20+ years of music learning experience in Hindustani Classical, Semi Classical, and Bollywood. I’ve been guiding students in the same for around 8 years now. I’m dedicated to my students to start from scratch followed by need-based development tests in order to proceed to advanced stages. I have been in the Top 15 of Indian Idol Season 11 in 2019. I’ve done Bachelors and Masters in Hindustani Classical Music. Music is my passion and I worship it. In the same way, I ensure to pass on my experience and passion for singing to my students and let my students present their own standards, thereby bringing uniqueness and originality of their own.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and student-centered. I create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident to explore their voice, ask questions, and grow at their own pace. I focus on building strong musical foundations while keeping lessons enjoyable and motivating.
Curriculum
The methodology of teaching highly depends on the interest (the area of music) as well as the experience level of the student. My genre is mainly Hindustani Classical and Bollywood. Along with those the Lessons include vocal technique, breath control, pitch, rhythm, ear training, expression, and song interpretation. I introduce a lot of western vocal techniques that really enhances your vocal flexibility. Learning to play a key instrument ( harmonium, keyboard) is also a part of the teaching.
Credentials & Affiliations
I hold a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Music from Kolhan University. I graduated as the University Topper in my Master's program and was awarded the University Gold Medal for my academic performance.
I was also among the Top 15 contestants on Indian Idol 2019. My education and performance experience have given me a strong foundation in music, which I bring to both my performances and my teaching.
