About

I have been a musician for as long as I can remember. I grew up under a father who was a band leader and I learned several intruments by the time I was 12 years old including guitar, bass guitar, drums and piano. I am grateful to have many experiences as a musician throughout my life and have always loved "giving back" by using my experience and knowledge to teach any and all who have a desire to learn.

I began playing in bands in 1977 in Michigan and currently work as an active musician in Nashville, Tennessee on worship teams and in various bands and shows in venues such as the beloved General Jackson Showboat.

I also play piano in the fall season at Dollywood for their long standing "Christmas In The Smokies" show at the Celebrity Theatre.

I have been teaching via private lessons since 2001, helping to educatate and hone in the skills of those who desire to grow in their mucisal journey through private lessons.

I attended Saginaw Valley State University in 1983 and 1984 majoring in music and playing in their Jazz Band as well as singing in their Main Choir and also their smaller select Chamber Choir.

Teaching Style

My objective is to find out the musical goals and direction that a student has a passion for and then tailor lessons to produce progress towards those goals. With that said, I have taught students who want to be able to play on worship teams by teaching them chord structure and how to read song charts. I have also taught those who love to be able to read sheet music notation. Others have wanted to be able to play a particular style of music with the goal of performing in a band environment. I also teach how to record in a DAW for those who want to learn how to write and record music for themselves as well as record others. Whatever your needs I can help you to get where you want to go musically.
