Seoga Kang
About
Hello! 안녕하세요! I’m Seoga Kang, a certified Korean language teacher and drama educator based in Seoul.
I teach Korean to children from multicultural backgrounds at Global Village School. I also teach Korean online, helping learners build confidence and use the language in everyday life.
Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a musical theatre performer, including two years with Tropical Art Theater in Australia. My background in theatre helps me bring clear pronunciation, expressive storytelling, and practical role-play into my Korean lessons.
I create Korean learning videos and visual materials that make useful words and sentence patterns easier to understand and remember.
Whether you are learning Hangul for the first time or want to feel more comfortable speaking Korean, we can work step by step toward your goals. Let’s turn what you learn into Korean you can actually use!
Teaching Style
My lessons are warm, encouraging, and interactive. You do not need perfect Korean to start speaking—mistakes are a natural part of learning.
I adapt the pace and explanations to your level, interests, and goals. We combine clear explanations with plenty of speaking practice, so you can understand a new expression and then use it yourself.
Pictures, stories, and everyday role-play help make Korean more memorable. We might order at a café, ask for directions, go shopping, or talk about weekend plans.
With my theatre background, I can help you explore pronunciation, rhythm, intonation, and emotion in spoken Korean. You do not need any acting experience; the activities are designed to make conversation feel natural and enjoyable.
I can support explanations in English or Chinese when needed, while helping you gradually use more Korean.
Curriculum
We begin by discussing your learning goals and checking your current level. I then plan lessons around the skills and situations that matter most to you.
For complete beginners, we focus on Hangul, pronunciation, basic vocabulary, and useful sentence patterns. As you progress, we develop listening, sentence building, and practical conversation skills.
A typical lesson includes:
• A short review of previous learning
• New vocabulary or a useful sentence pattern
• Guided practice with pictures and examples
• Speaking practice through conversation or role-play
• Feedback and a manageable review task
I provide teacher-created PDF worksheets, visual materials, example sentences, and review exercises. Homework can be adjusted to the time you have available.
When a textbook is helpful, I recommend one that matches your level and goals. If you already use a Korean textbook, please let me know so we can discuss how to incorporate it. You do not need to buy a textbook before our first lesson.
