About

Hi, I’m Taryna!

Music has been part of my life since I was a little child. I started playing guitar when I was 8 years old, and it quickly became one of my favorite ways to express creativity.

I really enjoy playing guitar with my siblings and my daughter. We always have so much fun together, and making music has become a wonderful way for us to connect and grow closer. That’s one reason I’m excited to offer family guitar lessons, where parents and children can learn together, build musical skills, and create special memories along the way!

As an adult, I finally reached a lifelong goal of learning piano as well, which gave me a deep understanding of what it feels like to learn a new instrument later in life.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in education, as well as multiple ESL certifications. With over 10 years of teaching experience working in elementary schools, running a music school, and teaching students online, I’ve developed a teaching approach that is both structured and encouraging. My background as a teacher helps me break down music concepts in a way that makes them clear, fun, and easy to understand, whether you're just starting out or have prior experience.

As a mom and farmer, I value patience, encouragement, and creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable learning and making mistakes. Watching students grow in confidence and discover the joy of making music is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Whether you're an adult interested in playing piano or guitar, a parent looking for lessons for your child, or a family wanting to make music together, I'd love to help you begin (or continue) your musical journey!

Teaching Style

My goal as a teacher is to help every student feel confident making music, whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time, returning to playing as an adult, or building on skills you already have. Lessons are personalized to your goals, interests, and learning pace, so you'll feel supported while making steady progress.

I'm also passionate about helping families connect through music! I offer family guitar lessons for parents and children, as well as siblings who want to learn together. Whether you're all complete beginners or have different levels of experience, we'll build skills step by step and learn to play music together. My goal is to help your family make music a fun, shared experience while growing in confidence and musical ability.

In all my lessons, I combine a structured curriculum with flexibility, helping you understand how music works rather than simply memorizing notes. We'll develop essential skills like note reading, rhythm, and technique while learning songs you love. For younger students, I also incorporate games and creative activities to make learning fun and engaging.

I believe learning music should be both rewarding and enjoyable. I'll meet you where you are, encourage you through challenges, and celebrate your progress along the way. All in a positive, encouraging environment where you can explore, make mistakes, and develop your musical skills with confidence.
