Hi! I have been a private lesson instructor for over twenty years. I have degrees in music education and conducting, and I'm a professional conductor and woodwind performer. I have over a decade of experience teaching band at the high school level and I'm currently a university instructor.
Teaching Style
I like to get to know my students and adjust my teaching style and pace to meet their needs. I always keep long term and short term goals in mind and often check for understanding and progress!
Curriculum
I typically use method books and etude books as well as solos at appropriate levels to the student. In conducting lessons, I teach conducting technique but also focus on score study and deeper understanding of repertoire. I am experienced in assisting conductors in preparing for workshops, gigs, and more!
