About

Hello! I’m Yehor Mukhanov, a professional guitarist and guitar teacher from Kharkiv, Ukraine, with 8 years of teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Kharkiv National University of Arts (2019–2023), where I specialized in classical guitar and obtained the qualification of Guitar Teacher.

Before that, I graduated from Kharkiv Music College (2015–2019) with a Junior Specialist degree in Music and a qualification as a Guitar Teacher. During my studies, I participated in and won prizes at various All-Ukrainian and international guitar competitions. I have also performed as a guitarist in different musical settings, including as a bass guitar player in the orchestra of Kharkiv Music College.

I began teaching in 2017, during my third year at the music college, as part of my supervised teaching practice. Since then, I have taught classical guitar at Kharkiv State Musical Schools No. 7 and No. 8, worked as a classical and electric guitar teacher at the private music school “Accord” in Kharkiv, and developed a private teaching practice that I continue today. Over these years, I have developed my own teaching approach, combining a structured and technically demanding methodology with an emotionally warm and supportive attitude.

My lessons are consecutive and adapted to each student's interests and goals — I believe that discipline and dedication are essential, but I will never force a student to learn music they have no interest in. I teach classical, acoustic, and electric guitar remotely, and can also incorporate music theory, chords, standard notation, or tablature according to the student's needs. My teaching principles are simple: discipline, dedication, and honesty.

My goal is not only to teach students how to play individual pieces, but to help them become independent musicians who understand what they are playing and why.

Teaching Style

Consecutive, emotionally warm, technically strict, everything according to the student's interests. I won't force you to learn something you are not interested in.

Curriculum

My teaching approach is primarily based on the Frederick Noad method, enriched with my own exercises and repertoire. All the learning materials are provided to the student.
We begin with proper posture and instrument positioning, then gradually move on to the first fingerpicking exercises and left-hand technique.
From the very first lessons, we also develop a strong sense of rhythm using a metronome and my own original rhythm exercises. A key part of my teaching is a three-stage method that helps students learn musical notation step by step, making sight-reading clear, logical, and accessible from the very beginning.
To keep lessons engaging and motivating, I introduce simple melodies and short musical pieces throughout the learning process, allowing students to apply new skills in real music from the start.
