About

I'm Yoav Shlomov — a jazz guitarist, composer, and educator based in Tel Aviv. I hold a BFA in Jazz Performance from The New School (New York) and teach guitar with a focus on jazz, improvisation, and musicality for students who want real progress — not just tabs.

My approach blends ear training, repertoire, and practical improvisation so you sound like yourself faster. I work with beginners through advanced players, and I'm comfortable teaching online across time zones.

Teaching Style

Lessons are conversational and goal-oriented. We start from where you are — songs you love, technical blocks, or jazz vocabulary — then build a clear weekly practice plan. I emphasize listening, phrasing, and making theory useful on the instrument. Expect demos, play-along, and honest feedback.

Curriculum

Typical path: fundamentals & time feel → chord vocabulary & voice leading → improvisation over standards → transcription & personal style. Flexible for rock/pop students who want stronger theory and soloing.
