Yuexi Wei

Yuexi is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and music teacher based in New York City, currently performing in a two-person band called WDEK.

As a performer, her band has sold out two original shows in NYC, most recently "The Things We Let Go" at Balance Arts Center in July 2026, where they performed a set blending originals — including her song "Monstera Plant" — with covers by artists like Ichiko Aoba and Alice Phoebe Lou. She holds a Community Health Music certificate from Berklee College of Music, and continues to study voice and guitar privately, focusing on technique like head voice, passaggio, and breath support, as well as jazz progression and bossa nova.

Yuexi currently teaches private guitar and voice lessons to a wide range of students, from adults to young kids. She has a roster of private students she's built over the years, teaching from a home studio, while also teaching at a local music studio in Brooklyn, NY.

Yuexi obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Her academic background has honed her understanding of diverse learning styles, enabling her to create warm, inviting lessons. Beyond techniques, she believes it's important to teach students ways to practice efficiently and in a way that preserves the student's love for music.
