Zach Bahn

Hello! I'm a Los Angeles-based music producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with a BA in Songwriting & Performance from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). My musical foundation is rooted heavily in percussion, rhythm, and the vibraphone, alongside classical, jazz, and world music.

I'm currently a full-time producer and have worked with artists and producers including The Fray, Doja Cat, The Kid LAROI, London On Da Track, French Montana, Iann Dior, and many others. I also spent two years as an Ableton instructor at Garnish Music Production School in Los Angeles.

My approach to production comes from treating drums and rhythm as a musical instrument, rather than simply another part of the production process.

My teaching style is creative, relaxed, and hands-on, with a strong emphasis on rhythm and musicality. Rather than overwhelming students with technical information, I focus on developing their ear, creativity, timing, and instincts as a producer.

My background as a percussionist and vibraphonist gives me a different perspective on drum programming and production. I teach students how to think about groove, dynamics, velocity, swing, spacing, layering, and arrangementso their drums feel intentional and musical—not just technically correct.

We'll work directly in Ableton and, whenever possible, use the student's own music and ideas. My goal is to help students develop their own sound and creative instincts, while giving them practical production skills they can continue using independently.
