About

Whether you're taking your first music lesson, returning to music after years away, or preparing for an audition, I would love to help you reach your musical goals and build confidence through personalized instruction. I teach voice, piano, and music theory to children, teens and adults, with a focus on healthy technique, strong musicianship, and individual artistic expression.

I have been teaching private lessons at Meter Music School in my hometown of Seattle since 2024, working with students aged 6 to 60 in a variety of styles including classical, musical theatre, pop, and jazz. My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel intellectually engaged and creatively inspired.

I am currently completing my Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance at the University of Washington. While classically trained as a tenor and pianist, I also have a love for musical theatre and jazz. I have been recognized for my academic and artistic achievement through awards including the Peeler-Horan Scholarship for the Performing Arts and First Prize in the Western Washington NATS competition. Immersed in the Pacific Northwest arts scene, I work as a professional church musician and have appeared as a soloist at the Cascade Song Festival and Seattle Bach Festival.

Teaching Style

I have been teaching private voice, piano, and music theory lessons since 2024 and currently teach about 20 in-person students in Seattle. I am excited to be expanding to teaching online with Lessonface!

Public online reviews pulled from my local studio:

[Student's name] has been working with Zayn for about a year and has enjoyed it greatly. Zayn is very kind, a good teacher who corrects him when there are issues, but make sure to focus on the positive.
