Chantal is a classically trained singer from Canada. She has over 10 years experience teaching private music lessons and is currently teaching and developing a music program at an International Primary School in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Chantal received a Bachelor's Degree in classical singing and opera from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. She toured Hungary, Serbia, and Montenegro with the University Choir.

While in Nashville, Chantal was fortunate to record with Nick Buddha, who has recorded drums for Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and many more, and Pat Buchanana, one of Nashville's top session musicians, who has played for Cindy Lauper, Simon and Garfunkel, Faith Hill, and Kenny Chesney.

I am passionate about music education and feel it is important to inspire and educate people of all ages. It is important to me that lessons are both enjoyable and enforce positive learning tools and discipline, which are all vital to learning music.

Feel free to contact me with any questions and please do take advantage of the free 15 minutes trial lesson to get an idea of what music lessons are like.

**If you do not see a lesson time that works for you, please send me a message and we can see if we can work something out.

Warming Up

Just like stretching before a workout, warming up is crucial to vocal health.
Students will learn proper practicing habits as well as exercises to help strengthen and prepare the voice for a practice session, lesson or performance.

Students will learn a variety of exercises and etudes designed to strengthen different aspects of their voice.  These aspects include range, dynamics, intonation, pronunciation, stamina and vocal flexibility.

Music Theory

Instruction and assignments will be given to students to expand and deepen their knowledge of the musical language.

Students will learn pieces that are appropriate for the individual level and skills they are currently working on.

She relays very well some of the methods and ideas behind how to relax the body to sing appropriately. I loved the recording option so that I (parent) could replay what and how the lesson went.

Elijah seemed very pleased and positive about the first lesson. He is excited to get to the next lessons and really wants to sing better, stronger, more controlled.

Chantal is an outstanding teacher! She honed in on the things I didn't know I was doing (and not doing) and recorded the lesson so I can review it again and again. I'm looking forward to my future classes!
