Marian Gomez Villota
Latin Grammy nominated studio and FOH engineer, producer, arranger, pianist and guitar player. Graduated Magna Cum Laude from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, dual major in Production & Engineering and Contemporary Writing, Marian paved her way to the heart of the music industry in Boston MA, working with and for great names such as Javier Limon, Jonathan Wyner, Jorge Drexler, George Massenburg, Concha Buika, and many others
Marian performed in The Latin Grammy Ceremony 2013, playing with infamous singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz. In 2014 Marian is nominated for her own Latin Grammy for “Best Engineered Album” for her work as engineer in “Promesas De Tierra” by Javier Limon.
Today Marian is continuing her professional journey in New York active as an freelance producer/engineer, live sound engineer at the Shapeshifter lab and Bowery Poetry club, and is working with artists such as Jerry Barnes (Roberta Flack, Chaka Khan), Javier Limon (Paco de Lucia, Calamaro, Bebo Valdés), Tali Rubinstein, Yonit Spiegelman, Foreign Hues, Shachar Ziv, Jacinta Clusellas, Juana Aquerreta, Banot and many upcoming artists.
I try to be positive in my teaching, but also constructive and to really help students become the best musicians they can be. I love a good method and practice it, but the most important part its to know that my student is also having fun and is being motivated, so I don't mind going around the theory if that is what my student wants.
